Job Duties: Oversee the secondary market trading of 450+ BlackRock-issued ETFs across asset classes, evaluating liquidity, spreads, volumes, execution quality, and premium/discount behavior to support efficient ETF trading and market integrity. Identify, assess, and model potential trading-related risk scenarios, including abnormal premium/discount behavior, market dislocations, liquidity stress, and structural inefficiencies, using historical and real-time market data. Conduct independent quantitative and historical data analysis to detect anomalies, trends, and emerging risks, and determine when observed market behavior warrants escalation, remediation, or further investigation. Apply quantitative analysis to inform and influence business decisions related to ETF trading oversight, product governance, and risk management. Communicate analytical findings, risk assessments, and market insights to senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners, including trading, product, risk, and business leadership, to support decision-making and operational improvements. Lead the data and analytics pillar within the U.S. ETF Markets team, defining analytical priorities, frameworks, and innovation initiatives. Lead the application of advanced analytics and AI-based tools to enhance market surveillance anomaly detection, and risk identification across ETF trading activity. Collaborate with market structure leaders and internal stakeholders to evaluate exchange, regulatory, and trading-venue dynamics, and to develop and advocate for initiatives that promote a more investor-friendly, efficient, and lower-friction ETF trading ecosystem. Exercise independent professional judgment in assessing ETF trading risks, determining the materiality of market events, and shaping analytical recommendations related to trading behavior and market quality.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computational Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or as an Analyst or related role. Must have two (2) years of experience with: Industry research and analysis, including synthesizing market data, trends, and competitive insights; Data-driven decision-making, leveraging industry datasets and internal metrics; Project management across internal and external stakeholders; Cross-functional collaboration across product, investment, risk, and distribution teams; Data synthesis tools including Excel, Power BI, and analytics platforms; Streamlining processes using Python and SQL; Promoting efficient ETF trading and differentiating BlackRock ETFs from competitor funds and other investment vehicles; and Conducting quantitative data analysis to facilitate business decision making and building data sets to produce insights for management, sales teams, and clients.
