Defines and monitors mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs. Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements. Assesses program performance and risks and determines resources to ensure mission assurance.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement program quality inspection plans.

  • Work with the Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure that requirements are correctly described and documented in the production work plans.

  • Participate with corrective action or improvement teams and promote the use of data to assist in the improvement effort.

  • Initiate Root Cause Analysis to identify root causes and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented.

  • Conduct product verification/validation activities to ensure engineering changes have been incorporated to the build of products.

  • Preparation, generation, and execution of first article inspections.

  • Processing of MRB nonconformance reports and performing material reviews for accuracy prior to submitting to production teams for work.

  • Supports the Program, Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams with data analytics for improvement processes.

  • Conduct or support internal audits, process observations, and area assessments.

  • Conduct or support AS9100/ISO9000 external audits, surveillance, and assessments.

  • Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, internal suppliers, and program leadership to ensure requirements are met.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree STEM discipline emphasis in an engineering field and no years of experience

  • Experience conveying technical information (both written and verbal)

  • Experience with M.S. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance and Program Access when or if required

  • Use and/or application of technical principles, theories, and concepts.

  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T drawings

  • Must be willing to support other shifts as needed

  • Must be willing to travel as needed

  • Great communication and people skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 2 years of experience

  • Active DoD Clearance and ability to obtain special program access

  • 4 or more years’ experience within Industry Manufacturing, Quality/FOE Inspection, or Quality Engineering

  • Experience within NGC as a Quality Inspector, FOE Inspector, or Quality Engineer

  • Experience with NGC’s MRB process

  • Experience within NGC using Root Cause Analysis methods to develop Corrective Actions

  • Knowledge/Experience with development of continuous improvement plans

  • Use and/or application of technical principles, theories, and concepts.

  • Knowledge of LEAN/Kaizen/Six Sigma

  • Experience with using the SAP System

  • In-Depth Knowledge of Drawings/3D Modeling/Solid Works/CATIA

  • Knowledge/Experience in data analytics and metric development

  • Independent and able to work with little supervision

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Highly self-motivated person, able to take the initiative to become involved in activities to help resolve problems and make improvements.

  • Must have good communication skills and work well with other teams

Salary Range: $62,200.00 - $93,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
