The Role
Kyndryl is seeking an experienced and collaborative tax accounting professional to join our Global Tax Operations team. This role plays a key leadership position in the preparation and oversight of Kyndryl's global income tax provision under ASC 740, supporting quarterly and year-end reporting for a Fortune 500 multinational company.
The Associate Director will partner closely with regional tax managers, outsourced service providers, Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, and External Reporting teams to ensure the accurate reporting of income taxes across more than 60 jurisdictions. In addition to leading key aspects of the global tax accounting process, this role provides exposure to complex international tax matters, financial reporting, forecasting, tax planning initiatives, and interactions with external auditors and senior finance leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead key aspects of Kyndryl's quarterly and annual global income tax provision process under ASC 740, including consolidation of worldwide tax results and preparation of supporting analyses.
Partner closely with regional tax managers to ensure the accurate reporting of non-US tax positions, including current and deferred tax accounts, uncertain tax positions, and other jurisdiction-specific matters.
Review and challenge tax provision calculations, supporting workpapers, and deliverables prepared by outsourced service providers to ensure technical accuracy and consistency.
Prepare and review tax account reconciliations, ensuring appropriate documentation, support, and compliance with internal control requirements.
Assist in the determination and analysis of the quarterly and annual effective tax rate, including identification and communication of significant drivers and trends.
Support the analysis and review of cash tax forecasts and related reconciliations.
Prepare and review ASC 740 disclosures included in Forms 10-Q, 10-K, earnings materials, and other external reporting requirements.
Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, and External Reporting teams to assess the tax implications of business transactions, accounting developments, tax law changes, and strategic initiatives.
Support the accounting and reporting for complex tax matters, including valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, transfer pricing, restructuring activities, and acquisitions or divestitures, as applicable.
Manage the recording and delivery of tax-related journal entries to ensure proper presentation within the company's financial statements.
Coordinate with external auditors and support audit requests, technical discussions, and review procedures throughout the reporting cycle.
Build strong relationships across Kyndryl's global tax organization and serve as a trusted partner to regional teams and key finance stakeholders.

Who You Are
This is an individual contributor role, and people management experience is not required. This position will work extensively with external advisors.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required
6+ years of experience in a Big 4 firm and/or an in-house tax department
Occasional travel to the Rye Brook, NY office may be required for meetings.
Strong demonstrated experience in tax accounting
Experience with ASC 740 and US multinational operations is required
CPA, MST, or LLM is preferred

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $116,760 to $221,880 based on a full-time schedule. Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.
There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:
California: $128,400 to $266,040
Colorado: $116,760 to $221,880
New York City: $140,040 to $266,040
Washington: $128,400 to $243,960
This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
