Role Overview

We are seeking an Associate Director/Senior Manager, Commercial Insights & Forecasting to lead development of our product forecasts, competitive intelligence, and market insight gathering. This role will synthesize diverse inputs — epidemiology, secondary data, CI, and market research — into robust models and strategic recommendations. As one of our first commercial team members, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our launch planning and ongoing corporate strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Commercial Operations, Forecasting, Senior Leadership) to align on business objectives and design studies that generate actionable insights.
  • Manage external vendors for qualitative and quantitative research, ensuring methodological rigor, compliance, and timely delivery of high-impact results.
  • Develop leadership-level deliverables, translating complex data into clear, strategic recommendations with defined ownership, timelines, and KPIs.
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing forums with senior leaders and subject matter experts to drive alignment and embed insights into strategic planning.
  • Monitor competitive intelligence and market events, synthesizing implications for company strategy, product positioning, and lifecycle planning.
  • Integrate primary and secondary research to validate market sizing, assess growth drivers, and understand competitive dynamics in the eyecare space.
  • Leverage advanced analytics and AI tools to enhance insight generation, trend detection, and real-time decision support across global markets.
  • Support post-marketing and lifecycle planning efforts, including PMR strategy, by providing evidence-based insights and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Associate Director Level Responsibilities

  • Lead Primary Market Research, Forecasting and CI functions.
  • Build and maintain patient-based forecasting models across indications and geographies while translating forecast outputs into clear business scenarios.
  • Facilitate forecast scenario/output conversations with leadership, board, and investors.
  • Integrate insights from claims/Rx analytics, epidemiology, and market research into forecasts.
  • Partner with Data Science & Reporting to ensure analyses feed into forecast assumptions.
  • Develop, maintain and track functional budgets to plan.
Experience
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MS, PhD) in life sciences, health economics, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in forecasting, CI, or commercial insights in pharma/biotech.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in a start-up or lean environment a plus; comfort with wearing multiple hats.

Associate Director Requirments

  • Hands-on experience building and pressure-testing patient-based forecasts.
  • Strong understanding of secondary data (claims/Rx, epi datasets) and their application to forecasting.
  • Demonstrated leadership in shaping strategic direction and influencing cross-functional decision-making.
Physical Requirements & ADA Statement

This role is primarily a desk-based job requiring the ability to operate a computer and communicate effectively in a remote work environment. The employee may be required to sit for extended periods, engage in video or phone meetings, and use standard office equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.
