At Huge, we see content as the cornerstone of building meaningful connections between brands and users. Our approach focuses on creating intelligent, user-centered content ecosystems that drive trust, credibility, and long-term value. Whether designing content that seamlessly integrates into the core digital experience or developing broader content marketing initiatives that resonate across diverse platforms, we prioritize relevance, impact, and engagement. Huge recognizes that in today’s landscape, content is more persuasive than advertising alone, and our work ensures our clients are positioned to meet user needs with clarity and purpose—at scale.
Job description.
Huge is seeking an Associate Director of Content Strategy to lead complex, multidisciplinary initiatives that transform how content supports business goals and user needs. This is a senior strategic role for someone who can define a content vision, architect systems and governance models, and lead teams through implementation. You’ll be at the center of large-scale digital transformation projects—from designing content models and IA systems to future-proofing content ecosystems with AI and emerging technologies.
While your foundation is content strategy, you’re fluent in the capabilities AI can bring to the table—from structured content for personalization to conversational design and generative tools. You’ll help clients navigate where AI fits in the content ecosystem—and where it doesn’t—ensuring every solution is both practical and forward-looking.
This role is not editorial or copy management. Instead, it’s about turning complexity into clarity, and aligning content systems with both audience expectations and business objectives.
What you’ll be doing.
- Lead the definition and execution of content strategies across digital ecosystems, from core web platforms to marketing experiences
- Architect scalable content systems—including content models, metadata frameworks, and taxonomies—that support personalization, governance, and reuse
- Partner with UX, tech, and design leads to ensure content strategy is embedded throughout the product lifecycle
- Conduct content audits and qualitative/quantitative analyses to identify gaps, friction, and opportunities
- Define and evolve enterprise-level content governance models, including workflow, training, and publishing processes
- Facilitate workshops and interviews with cross-functional client stakeholders to align on strategy, audience needs, and business goals
- Support content migration planning across legacy and new platforms, partnering with engineering and product teams to operationalize delivery
- Advise clients on emerging content capabilities, including AI, personalization, and search optimization—identifying practical applications and requirements
- Define and oversee conversation models, tone, and flows for conversational interfaces when AI-powered experiences are in scope
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams on content’s role in driving business performance and connected experiences
- Contribute to the growth of Huge’s content strategy discipline through mentoring, IP development, and thought leadership
What we’d like to see.
- 8+ years leading content strategy, digital strategy, or a related field, with significant experience in an agency, consulting, or client services environment.
- Deep expertise in content architecture, metadata strategy, IA, and CMS/content delivery platforms
- Experience designing and operationalizing large-scale content systems that enable reuse, localization, and governance
- Experience with AI-driven content applications (e.g., conversational design, personalization engines, GenAI content experiences) and ability to assess their value in a broader strategy
- Fluency in the nuances of deterministic vs. generative AI, and how structured content supports emerging technologies
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise redesigns, e-commerce, or omnichannel experiences where content played a strategic role
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize user research, performance data, and stakeholder input into actionable strategy
- Clear, confident client communication and storytelling skills, especially when explaining complex content systems or technical concepts
- Collaborative leadership style that supports cross-disciplinary integration and empowers team members
This role is currently not available for hire or work in New Mexico and Hawaii, USA.
