Ramboll is seeking an Entry Level Air Quality Modeling Analyst for an open position in our Denver, Salt
Lake, or Seattle office. The ideal candidate is a motivated recent graduate who will work under the
direction of senior consultants and managers across a diverse set of air quality projects in a fast-
paced, forward-thinking, and collaborative environment

Job Description

Essential duties of this position may include:

  • Support air quality dispersion modeling projects using regulatory guideline models such as AERMOD.
  • Generate model input data and perform self-QA prior to submission.
  • Review model output data for errors and reasonableness.
  • Research federal and state air quality modeling guidance as directed.
  • Develop and maintain scripts to facilitate generation of model inputs and outputs.
  • Generation of professional figures, tables, and technical analyses.
  • Special projects as directed.

Qualifications

An ideal candidate may have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience with scientific programming such as R, Python or shell scripting.
  • Experience with working with large datasets including processing, formatting, and summary statistics.
  • Experience with geographic software such as ArcGIS, Surfer, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with working in Linux environments and cloud computing.
  • Familiarity with NOAA meteorological data products and foundational understanding of meteorology

A strong candidate must have the following skills and experience:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum BS in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Chemical Engineering, or related science; MS is a
  • plus. If degree is in Engineering, then coursework or research in thermodynamics, climatology, and air
  • quality modeling is a plus

Salary Transparency Statement

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $58,416 to $72,000. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
