JOB SCOPE
As an Associate Site Reliability Engineer in Platform as a Service for on-premises cloud, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and scalability of our PaaS infrastructure, IaaS platforms, cloud management platform, CI/CD pipeline, automation, and tooling. This role combines software and systems engineering to deliver highly scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. You will work closely with our development, operations, and security teams to implement and maintain a highly available and secure PaaS platform and managed services systems. Your primary focus will be on building and maintaining the infrastructure necessary to support our PaaS offerings, managed services tools, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of our services. You will be responsible for ensuring that our PaaS platforms, cloud management platform, and other managed services meets the needs of our internal and external stakeholders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES

  • Implement, and maintain a highly available and secure PaaS infrastructure.
  • Implement, and maintain a cloud management platform, CI/CD Pipeline, automation, and managed services tools.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to design and implement highly available, reliable, and scalable systems and services related to PaaS and IaaS infrastructures.
  • Automate deployment, monitoring, and management of PaaS and IaaS services.
  • Ensure that our PaaS and IaaS platforms meets the needs of our customers, including internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement processes for incident management, problem management, and change management in alignment with Charter Incident and Change Management Polices.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze the performance of PaaS and IaaS services to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and procedures.
  • Implement software solutions to improve reliability.
  • Improve reliability, quality, and performance of our suite of software products.
  • Integrate software solutions to improve observability.
  • Assist in the technical management for our IaaS platforms.
  • Work alongside other engineers and architects to deliver hybrid cloud solutions outlined in technical roadmaps.
  • Assist in Implementing process changes and investigation process deviations.
  • Work closely with Operations to identify process gaps and investigation process deviations in hypervisor and cloud platforms.
  • Provide consultative assistance to application development teams in leveraging automation and monitoring tools for continuous improvement of application deployments and monitoring.
  • Assist in Installs, manage, and maintain both physical and cloud infrastructure to enable delivery of compute, storage, and network resources.
  • Operate the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health utilizing tools such as vRops, vRNI, vRLI, Log Insight.
  • Participate in capacity planning and performance optimization efforts.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as required by the position.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATONS

  • Familiar with the VMWare suite of products
  • Familiar with managing both physical and Virtual infrastructure
  • Familiar with multiple operating systems (e.g. Windows and Linux)
  • Basic hands-on experience in one or more of cloud computing services (e.g. AWS,
  • Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platforms, IBM, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge / hands-on experience with a variety of cloud service models (e.g. Private, Public, and Multi-Cloud)
  • Basic scripting ability in one or more languages (e.g. Python, Shell, PowerShell, Ansible or Perl)
  • Familiar with CI/ CD experience with Helm, Ansible, Jenkins, GIT
  • Experience managing monitoring and alerting tools
  • Basic familiarity with containerized workloads (e.g. Kubernetes, Openshift, Rancher)
  • Conceptual understanding with networking, firewalls, routing and load balancing
  • Ability to troubleshoot multiple level issues within complex server ecosystems
  • Must have excellent written and oral communications, including technical documents, and process documents.
  • Requires attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to contribute independently as well as be a team player

The base pay for this position generally is between
$67,100.00 and $107,300.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
