Overall Purpose
The Denver Assistant Project Manager (APM) reports to the Project Manager. The APM provides operational support and coordination to the Project Manager for operations in the Denver office. Maintaining project records is a central part of the role, e.g., equipment inventory, work plans, project notes, and tracking action items. The APM schedules meetings, prepares meeting minutes and documents action items for internal and external meetings.
The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for the coordination of group activity wherein the APM provides field and office support to expedite achieving goals and objectives of each project assignment. The APM may be responsible for various phases or aspects of a project including but not limited to, planning, organizing, executing, closing, and customer interaction to achieve successful project completion with constraints on scope, time, cost, performance, and customer needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare reports, meeting minutes, risk logs and progress updates for distribution to the project team and stakeholders.
- Work with customers to ensure invoices are received and follow up on any payments not received within a company-defined time frame.
- Assist with developing inputs to project plans,
- Identify any potential areas of exposure to project schedules, milestones, and subcontractor responsibilities.
- Conduct frequent, regular project evaluation and review meetings with PMs to identify current and future risks and initiate actions for their resolution.
- Prepare and submit weekly or monthly progress reports to management, and to customer if required.
- Flexibility to work across multiple project locations.
- Coordinate, assist, and supplement field operations, e.g., reviewing safety training reports and issuing reminders to complete by due date.
- Assist with project control efforts, including project cost reporting, reviewing project and overhead reports for incorrect charges.
- Prepare and run reports from internal systems, e.g., work order summaries, internal month-end reports
- Work with Project Managers, Field Managers and Field Supervisors to track inventory weekly.
- Prepare requisitions for Field operations, e.g., PPE and spare parts
- Prepare invoices and invoice pdf files for PMs as requested.
- Assist PM’s in setting up projects in the internal Project Tracking system, including the data entry of costs, assigned resources, schedule and other information required to set up the project.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or similar required
- Good verbal and written communication skills are required
- Familiar with project scheduling and planning tools.
- Time management and prioritization of tasks.
- Attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to build relationships and work well across functions is a plus
- Demonstrates superior judgment and communicates a "can do" attitude and positive outlook, minimizing negative behaviors
- Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness with strong attention to detail
- Ability to travel to conferences, job sites and offices
- Demonstrates a strong customer orientation
- Demonstrates the capacity to manage changing priorities and ambiguity while remaining focused
- Maintains direction and focus through proactive planning and organized approaches to work

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $99,800.00 - $149,600.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.Benefits Package
