Job Summary: The RN Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a critical leadership role in supporting the Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee and manage all aspects of nursing operations at The Center at Cordera. The ADON is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care, clinical excellence, and regulatory compliance. This role involves direct supervision and mentorship of nursing staff, fostering a positive work environment, and contributing significantly to our mission of delivering premier skilled nursing and rehabilitation services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Oversight: Assist the DON in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
  • Quality Assurance & Improvement: Participate in the development and implementation of quality assurance programs for nursing services, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Staff Supervision & Development: Supervise and evaluate the performance of nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to promote professional growth and maintain a high level of clinical competency.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures. Assist in preparing for and participating in state and federal surveys.
  • Patient Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for residents.
  • Resource Management: Assist in managing nursing department resources, including staffing schedules, supplies, and equipment, to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Policy & Procedure Implementation: Ensure that all nursing personnel comply with established infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies.
  • On-Call Responsibilities: Participate in an on-call rotation to provide clinical and administrative support as needed.
  • Resident & Family Relations: Address resident and family concerns related to nursing care in a timely and professional manner, promoting open communication and satisfaction.
  • Education & Training: Assist in developing and conducting in-service education programs for nursing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience considered.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF), long-term care, or acute rehabilitation setting.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor).
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations governing skilled nursing facilities (e.g., CMS, OBRA).
  • Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and general computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
