As a key member of our growing accounting team, you’ll sink your teeth into problems and make recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department. This position requires one day a week in the office, where you’ll collaborate with the team in our Midtown Toronto office.

What you’ll do…
- Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements
- Manage the monthly close process, including the preparation of month-end journal entries and the review of monthly reconciliations
- Support month-end internal and external financial reporting, including board and shareholder material, as well as ad-hoc financial analysis
- Work with the Controller to implement company-wide processes to improve internal controls, safeguard assets, and optimize resource allocation
- Create, maintain, and administer company policies and identify potential areas for process improvements
- Manage the automation of deferred revenue reconciliation within NetSuite and other ERP automation projects
- Manage the AP function by:
- Reviewing GL coding and supporting documentation for all expenditures
- Reviewing supporting documentation prior to the release of CAD, USD, and GBP payments
- Creating budgetary reporting against actual monthly results
- Manage the year-end audit by preparing and managing working papers and discussions with auditors
- Build and maintain relationships with key corporate and external stakeholders
What we’re looking for…
- CPA designation preferred, or working towards completion
- Minimum 2 years of experience performing full cycle accounting or a similar finance role with Canadian GAAP experience
- Prior experience in a SAAS environment is preferred
- Proficiency with NetSuite accounting software
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365
- Self-driven with the ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision in a deadline-oriented environment
- Track record of successful development and implementation of processes in finance/accounting within a startup or fast-growing organization
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and can demonstrate teamwork skills as part of a growing team
- Strong problem solving and time management skills
- Strong project management skills
The compensation for this role offers a range from $90,000 - $110,000 CAD. The final offer will be determined based on the candidate's experience and expertise, as assessed during the interview process.
