Maintenance Assistant – Holiday Inn Express Fraser, Colorado

Position: Part-Time Maintenance Assistant
Location: Holiday Inn Express, Fraser, Colorado
Reports To: Chief Engineer / Maintenance Supervisor
Schedule: Flexible, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Role Overview

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the functionality and safety of the hotel’s facilities. Your responsibilities will include performing routine maintenance tasks, assisting with repairs, and supporting the maintenance team to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Assist in completing the preventative maintenance checklist, including tasks such as replacing light bulbs, patching vinyl, unclogging toilets, and replacing faucet washers.

  • Repairs and Upkeep: Perform minor repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and grounds, including plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC units.

  • Facility Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.

  • Inventory Management: Help maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring timely replenishment and minimizing waste.

  • Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with health and safety guidelines.

  • Guest Interaction: Respond courteously and promptly to guest requests and inquiries to ensure strong guest satisfaction.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations and a positive guest experience.

Qualifications
  • Experience: At least one year of general building maintenance and repair experience, preferably in a hospitality setting.

  • Education: High school diploma or related vocational training preferred.

  • Skills: Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general repairs. Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform manual tasks. Frequent standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and crawling.

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor.

  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
