What You'll Do

BridgeBio is seeking an Access & Reimbursement Director – Rare Disease (Hybrid Reimbursement & Patient Support) responsible for executing the launch strategy across a rare disease portfolio including integrating provider-facing reimbursement strategy with patient access and support coordination across a rare disease portfolio.

This hybrid role operates at an Associate Director level of autonomy and cross-functional influence, serving as a regional expert in navigating complex reimbursement pathways while supporting compliant education and coordination related to patient access and support programs.

The Associate Director partners with healthcare providers, consented patients and care partners, specialty pharmacies, and internal stakeholders to support patient understanding of reimbursement, affordability, and access processes in a compliant and ethical manner.

This position reports into Market Access / Patient Services leadership and works in close collaboration with Medical, Compliance, Legal, Commercial, Sales, and Patient Services teams.

ResponsibilitiesReimbursement & Access Strategy (Provider-Facing)
  • Serve as a regional subject matter expert on reimbursement and access for BridgeBio therapies
  • Educate healthcare provider offices on reimbursement processes, including benefits investigation, prior authorization, appeals, and coverage pathways
  • Identify and compliantly address access barriers within commercial and government payer environments
  • Support integration of access processes into provider office workflows
  • Provide compliant education on BridgeBio patient support programs and services
  • Share payer policy trends and field insights with Market Access leadership to inform strategy
Patient Support & Access Coordination
  • Provide access and affordability education to consented patients and care partners in alignment with compliance and privacy regulations
  • Support understanding of reimbursement processes and available patient support resources
  • Coordinate, as appropriate, among hubs, specialty pharmacies, prescriber offices, and support programs to facilitate continuity of access
  • Assist in identifying and escalating access-related challenges impacting the patient journey
  • Support onboarding and ongoing engagement of consented patients within BridgeBio patient support programs in accordance with program rules
Cross-Functional Leadership & Insight Generation
  • Act as a senior field partner to Market Access, Patient Services, Compliance, Legal, Medical, Commercial, and Sales teams
  • Provide compliant, de-identified field insights regarding access trends, barriers, and process gaps
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of access strategies, tools, and field materials
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving patient access pathways
  • Serve as a mentor and resource to field access colleagues where appropriate
Compliance & Ethical Standards
  • Operate in strict adherence to all company policies and applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA and OIG guidance
  • Provide patient-facing support in a hybrid setting while operating in strict adherence to company policies and all applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA and OIG requirements
  • Ensure all interactions with patients, providers, and stakeholders are compliant, non-promotional, and within scope
  • Properly handle protected health information (PHI) in accordance with company policy

  • Operates with a high degree of autonomy and professional judgment
  • Manages complex and escalated access and reimbursement challenges

Where You'll Work

This is a U.S.-based field role requiring greater than 50% domestic travel based on regional needs.

Who You AreRequired:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8+ years of experience in biotech/pharma, with significant experience in reimbursement, market access, patient services, or rare disease
  • Deep understanding of U.S. payer systems, including commercial and government coverage pathways
  • Experience navigating specialty pharmacy and hub models
  • Strong knowledge of compliance requirements related to patient support and access services
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based, cross-functional environment
Preferred:
  • MBA, RN, or other advanced clinical or business degree preferred
  • Rare disease experience
  • Experience supporting both provider reimbursement and patient access programs
  • Experience working with complex health systems and specialty centers
  • Background in cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, or other specialty therapeutic areas

Below is the anticipated salary range for candidates for this role who will work in California. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, educational background, location of residence and performance during the interview process. BridgeBio is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions based in other states.
Salary
$185,000$235,000 USD
