The factory of the future is rapidly emerging as an AI-enabled, autonomous manufacturing environment where real-time artificial intelligence transforms production capabilities. Advanced manufacturing facilities will leverage GPU-accelerated computing for critical applications including real-time defect detection, predictive maintenance, and intelligent process optimization. These AI-powered systems can identify defects as small as nanometers in milliseconds, spectacularly improving quality control while reducing waste and downtime. NVIDIA Holoscan is a domain-agnostic AI computing platform specifically designed for building GPU-accelerated applications that bring supercomputing capabilities directly to manufacturing sensors and processing equipment. Holoscan enables real-time sensor processing pipelines that can analyze high-speed production data, perform instant quality assessments, and trigger immediate corrective actions—all while maintaining the ultra-low latency requirements critical for modern manufacturing processes
As an Applications Engineer, you will focus on accelerating the adoption of Holoscan across manufacturing domains, working alongside product teams and leading pioneers in building AI-accelerated manufacturing applications that define the future of intelligent production. Do you enjoy developing real-time data processing applications, infusing them with AI and connecting them to an AI supercomputer? Do you find it rewarding being the computational and AI problem solver for the top scientists and researchers? If converting a proof-of-concept manufacturing algorithm into an inspiring solution for the broader manufacturing community excites you, we want to hear from you and be part of NVIDIA team.
What you’ll be doing:
Work directly with customers or developers on porting manufacturing algorithms and sensor processing applications to Holoscan
Profile applications and run benchmarks to demonstrate GPU acceleration value in production environments
Build examples and sample applications for manufacturing tutorials
Collaborate with domain experts on whitepapers and with marketing on blog posts
Participate and present in workshops, trade shows, and industry conferences
What we need to see:
5+ years in building real-time sensor processing applications with a strong technical focus in a particular domain (scientific computing, instrumentation, test & measurement, defense)
A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience
Proficiency in Python and C/C++
Proven experience building AI algorithms for manufacturing applications (defect detection, process optimization, or quality control systems) using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar frameworks
Familiarity with scientific computing tools like MATLAB, LabView, and SciPy
Spectacular written, verbal, and visual communication skills with an entrepreneurial spirit
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience
