Application Developer

Synergy Business Innovation & Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Application Developer to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG). This role will support the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise applications utilizing microsft Dynamics 365 applications and Power Pages. The ideal candidate will have experience developing scalable applications, collaborating within Agile teams, and contributing to the sustainment and overall enhancement of the system.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain applications and services across the software development lifecycle.
• Develop and enhance Power Pages portals and Microsoft Dynamics 365 applications.
• Analyze requirements and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Develop, integrate, and support RESTful APIs and application integrations with internal and external systems.
• Write clean, maintainable, secure, and well-documented code following established development standards and best practices.
• Participate in solution design discussions and provide recommendations for application enhancements and technical improvements.
• Conduct peer code reviews and contribute to maintaining high standards of code quality, performance, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production incidents.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, application deployments, testing activities, and production releases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, architects, QA testers, and product stakeholders.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and implementation guides.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Assist in mentoring junior developers and sharing knowledge across the development team.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools and effective prompting techniques to improve productivity, accelerate development, and enhance solutions.
• Utilize development expertise to make appropriate decisions between custom code development and leveraging out of the box LCAP functionality.

Required Qualifications:

• 3-6 years of professional experience developing enterprise web applications.
• Strong proficiency in in building and enhancing solutions across the Microsoft Power Platform.
• Experience in customizing and extending model-driven apps in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Experience developing backend services using Node.js and building RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and Agile development practices.
• Experience working with Dataverse.
• Experience using Git and version control best practices within team-based development environments.
• Familiarity with application security, performance optimization, and secure coding principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative Agile team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform.
• Experience  customizing and extending model-driven apps in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Experience using Jira, Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar development and CI/CD tools.
• Experience writing automated unit and integration tests using Jest, Jasmine/Karma, or similar testing frameworks.
• Experience supporting production applications and participating in troubleshooting and incident resolution activities.
• Experience developing backend services using Node.js and building RESTful APIs.

Education Requirements:

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Required: US Citizen w/ Public Trust or ability to achieve Public Trust Required

Target Salary Range

Compensation for roles at Synergy is determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the requirements of the role; level of experience; education and certifications; the individual’s combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities; as well as alignment with market data, federal and state laws, and other business and contract considerations. The estimated pay range for this position is: $105,000.00 – $121,000.00. The disclosed range has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case and represent just one component of Synergy’s total compensation package for employees.
