As an API Enablement Specialist focused on scalable API usage and distribution at Engrain, you'll play a key role in shaping how customers and partners securely interact with our robust API ecosystem. You'll dive deep into the intricacies of API permissions and key management, helping both our internal teams and external partners understand best practices for API access, automation, and consumption to ensure efficient and secure integration with Engrain's solutions.
This role requires not only strong technical and analytical skills, but also a willingness to become a subject matter expert in API key management, permissions, and security best practices. What you'll do...
- API Key & Permission Management: Design, create, and maintain robust systems for managing API permissions and the lifecycle of API keys, ensuring secure and efficient access for all stakeholders.
- API Automation & Distribution: Build and optimize automated systems for the secure updating and distribution of API keys, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing manual effort.
- API Technical Authority: Serve as the primary technical expert on API key permissions and best practices, guiding internal teams and external partners on optimal API usage.
- Data Analysis: Analyze and standardize data structures across internal systems, partner APIs, customer databases, and proprietary models to ensure accurate integration and reporting. Provide clarity on how fee data is captured, transformed, and displayed.
- Partner & Customer Enablement: Develop and deliver expert-level training and support to partners and customers, helping them understand and effectively utilize Engrain's APIs to achieve their objectives.
- Comprehensive API Documentation: Create and maintain clear, robust, and example-rich documentation for all aspects of our APIs, ensuring a frictionless integration experience for developers.
- API Integration & Support: Collaborate closely with internal engineering and product teams, as well as external partners, to troubleshoot integration challenges and ensure the smooth operation of API endpoints.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance API security, usability, and performance through proactive analysis and implementation of best practices.
- Support special technical projects: Provide hands-on support for technical projects as needed, including data analysis, troubleshooting, system configuration, and coordination with engineering or partner teams to resolve issues and ensure project continuity.
Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
- 2 or more years of experience in software implementation, data analysis, or data quality assurance.
- Proficiency in SQL, JSON, XML, or other data formats.
- Experience working with APIs, including testing endpoints, understanding request/response patterns, authentication, and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A self-motivated learner who can quickly absorb complex data models and become a subject matter expert.
- Experience with multifamily real estate or property management systems.

- Salary Disclosure for Colorado: The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 with final compensation dependent on a variety of factors like experience, certifications and skill set.
