As an AML/KYC Controls Analyst within our team, you will play a critical role in overseeing and guiding compliance strategies. You will work closely with partners across the business to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring our processes meet regulatory standards. Your insights and recommendations will help shape our approach to financial crimes compliance. We foster a supportive environment where you can learn, mentor others, and advance your career.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Conduct complex AML/KYC risk reviews of customers escalated or previously exited based on identified risks; develop recommendations for management decisions
  • Identify and implement process improvements to address business needs and ensure consistent application of KYC standards
  • Present proposed decisions to compliance teams and leadership for review
  • Use your expertise in bank systems and procedures to make recommendations aligned with business priorities
  • Communicate issues and identify risk mitigation strategies
  • Analyze root causes for compliance issues and recommend solutions
  • Leverage understanding of systems, data, and processes to support business executives
  • Mentor case officers and support their development
  • Collaborate with partners across business, compliance, and technology to resolve issues
  • Maintain high standards of quality and attention to detail in all tasks

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in financial services, with a background in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or AML/KYC
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Professional maturity, integrity, and a proactive, results-oriented approach
  • Skilled in analyzing root causes of compliance and risk issues
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to make independent decisions using sound judgment
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations in the financial services industry

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills 

  • CAMS certification
  • Experience in Consumer Banking, Business Banking, or Wealth Management
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across teams
  • Experience presenting information in a meaningful and actionable manner
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo
  • Experience mentoring or training others
