We’re looking for a creative, driven Morning News Producer to join our team in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado. This role is perfect for someone who can make smart editorial decisions under pressure, balance breaking news with engaging lifestyle and community content, and work closely with our anchors to create a conversational, personality-driven broadcast that connects with viewers.

We're looking for a producer who understands how to weave impactful journalism into an engaging morning format. Someone who can identify stories that matter, provide context, and create opportunities for authentic conversations that reflect the communities we serve.

The Morning News Producer produces daily newscasts, decides the order in which stories will be told, writes teases and other content, times news programs, edits video, and posts video to the website. 

  • Produces newscasts for broadcast across all platforms, including streaming/ctv
  • Writes and orders news stories
  • Approves scripts
  • Balances news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts
  • Writes stories for the website and other platforms
  • Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites
  • Performs other duties as assigned 

 Requirements & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
  • Fluency in English
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Minimum two years’ experience in news operations (Depending on market size)
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners and other office equipment
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Flexibility to work any shift

 Compensation

  • Compensation range from $19.23/ hr + commensurate with experience and skill level.
  • Benefits include Medical, dental, vision, Life Insurance, and 401K with company match.
