Role Summary:

As part of the Affordability leadership team, this role will have primary responsibility for developing the Alternative Network Strategy and business plan for the Cigna Healthcare plans.  This leader will work directly with Network Strategy & Solutions Lead to develop a set of options and recommended business plan to expand growth with leaner (and traditionally smaller) buyer types (i.e Select Segment).  This leader will need to be able to understand and communicate across various workstreams and enterprise stakeholders as well as able to think non-linearly and anticipate and articulate future risks and opportunities across a set of scenarios.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for establishing a comprehensive business case, assumptions, and various options for Alternative Network & Product development.  Components to address include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Market targets and staging
    • Network, contracting, and operational needs
    • Technology and associated claim/benefit capabilities
    • Analytics requirements
    • Distribution
    • Margin expectations
  • Reports to VP Network Strategy and will work closely with the SVP Affordability to establish options for executive consideration.
  • Individual will need to partner closely with the following leads to understand existing workstreams and incorporate them into the overall business plan:
    • USE Network Lead who is responsible for facing out to local markets and establishing network/product needs
    • USE Network Governance who is responsible for Contracting/Network ops capacity management
    • USE Platform Lead who is responsible for coordinating with IT/Ops to determine technology strategy
    • Affordability Analytics Lead who is responsible for managing the business case financials and working with Finance/Pricing on the analytics roadmap.
    • USE Product Lead who is responsible for overall product configuration and benefit structures
  • Establish overall management structure, from cadence and meeting intent to what and where decisions will be made and associated milestones to execute on the Alternative Network Strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 15+ years of healthcare experience with demonstrated success across a variety of roles/responsibilities.
  • Expert level knowledge of network design, provider partnerships, analytics, and product design
  • Strong understanding of US Employer segment, what employers seek to buy, how medical product is distributed, and how financial value is created and charged to the different buyer types.
  • Strong understanding of operational requirements and considerations for new product development.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 212,000 - 353,300 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus and long term incentive plan.
