Natural Habitat Adventures (Nat Hab), a nature-focused global adventure travel company based in Boulder, Colorado, is seeking an Air Travel Specialist to join our team. The role requires arranging flights for our global field staff as well as arranging flights for internal employees’ travel benefits and work events.

This is a full time, exempt position based in Boulder, Colorado. This role follows a hybrid work schedule and requires regular in-office attendance. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design flight itineraries for all inbound air requests from field staff and internal employees, offering them the best options considering route and cost.
  • Manage group air bookings, including contracts, fares, deadlines, utilization, and ticketing requirements.
  • Create air requests based on field team schedules.
  • Learn airline change and cancellation policies, using that information to make the best choice for field staff and employee flights.
  • Purchase advance seating when applicable, either in GDS or on airline websites.
  • Manage airline reservations made by the Air Team. This includes helping with schedule changes, flight cancellations, seat changes, and issues while traveling.
  • Send updated flight confirmations to field staff and employees when voluntary or involuntary changes occur.
  • Provide support to the guest-facing Air Team during periods of high volume or operational need.
  • Ticket international and domestic flights via Amadeus GDS platform.
  • Understand and utilize airline commission contracts.
  • Familiarity with processing voluntary and involuntary exchanges and refunds.
  • Help field staff and internal employees with emergency situations such as canceled flights, delayed arrivals, missed connections, etc. during work hours and occasionally after work hours.
  • Reserve additional hotel nights for field staff and employees when needed.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS    

  • Proficient use of Amadeus or an alternative GDS ticketing system for international and domestic ticketing, exchanges, and refunds (3+ years’ experience strongly desired).
  • Background in travel or hospitality industry with experience in travel logistics preferred.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient/strong in the Windows operating system and applications, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Database experience is a plus – particularly FileMaker.
  • Proficient in Asana
  • Strong skills in time management, multitasking, prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
  • Able to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to prioritize and efficiently manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of worldwide geography and airport codes.
  • BA/BS degree is preferred.

COMPENSATION

Starting salary: $62,000–$68,000 plus an annual bonus. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. (Per Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, employers must include compensation ranges in job postings.) This is a full-time, exempt position.

LOCATION AND TRAVEL

This is a hybrid position based in our Louisville, Colorado office. Employees are expected to work on-site at least 50% of the workweek. In addition, all employees are required to attend one annual company-wide, in-person staff week, as well as one additional in-office week each year scheduled by their department. This policy may be modified at the company's discretion based on business needs.

WORKING HOURS

Our standard company hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM MT. On Saturdays, we operate from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with coverage provided by select members of our guest-facing teams. Additional hours may be required, as needed, to achieve your goals and support business needs.
