The AI Strategist will facilitate client discovery sessions, design systems for AI and personalization, synthesize information into structured frameworks, and develop clear documentation to enable personalized user experiences.
AI Strategist
Location: Remote
Type: Contract
Pay Range: $80-$100/hour
About the Role
Adage Technologies is seeking an AI and Personalization Strategist who thrives on uncovering patterns, asking thoughtful questions, and turning complexity into clarity. You're naturally curious about how things work - not just at the surface level, but underneath. You notice where systems break down, where data gets lost, and where structure could unlock something smarter. You're energized by big ideas, but you're equally passionate about the practical steps it takes to make those ideas real. Whether it's mapping how platforms talk to each other or designing a tagging schema that enables intelligent recommendations, you bring a builder's mindset to every challenge.
This role sits at the intersection of strategy, systems, and structure. You'll be embedded in client discovery sessions, working alongside designers, developers, and analysts to connect strategic goals to executable frameworks. You'll help shape the ecosystems that power personalization and lay the foundation for AI readiness - not by writing prompts or building models, but by designing the logic, tagging, and signals they rely on. If you're the kind of person who gets excited about metadata, behavioral signals, and structured thinking (and still manages to make it fun), we want to talk to you.
What You'll Do
1. Join Discovery Workshops to Uncover What AI Needs to Work
2. Turn Insights into Structure
3. Architect the Ecosystem for AI and Personalization Enablement
4. Design Personalization Logic That Connects Strategy to Experience
5. Deliver Strategic Tools - and Keep an Eye on What's Next

What You'll Do
1. Join Discovery Workshops to Uncover What AI Needs to Work
- Jump into client discovery sessions and help uncover the building blocks needed for AI and personalization to succeed.
- Actively participate in workshops that surface strategic goals, system constraints, and structural blind spots.
- Ask sharp, systems-oriented questions that reveal hidden dependencies or data opportunities.
- Help clients connect the dots between what they want to do - and what they need in place to get there.
2. Turn Insights into Structure
- Take what we learn in discovery and shape it into actionable models, logic, and systems that move the strategy forward.
- Synthesize messy, early-stage thinking into organized frameworks and clearly defined requirements.
- Translate user behaviors, success metrics, and personalization goals into structured system needs.
- Recommend platform enhancements or schema changes that unlock value fast.
3. Architect the Ecosystem for AI and Personalization Enablement
- Design the structure that makes personalized, AI-powered experiences possible - and scalable.
- Build tagging schemas, content models, and data flows that allow CMS, CRM, analytics, and personalization tools to work in harmony.
- Define how behavior gets captured, how systems share meaning, and how content can adapt intelligently.
- Create clarity and order in even the messiest of environments.
4. Design Personalization Logic That Connects Strategy to Experience
- Make personalization real - by defining how content, segments, and signals come together across the user journey.
- Craft segmentation frameworks, targeting matrices, and decision rules rooted in business goals.
- Ensure content is not only structured for reuse, but for relevance.
- Bridge strategy and platform capability to unlock targeted, dynamic delivery.
5. Deliver Strategic Tools - and Keep an Eye on What's Next
- Build clear, implementation-ready documentation that others can use immediately - and stay plugged into what's emerging.
- Create system maps, tagging plans, KPI signal definitions, and prioritization frameworks that drive real execution.
- Translate complexity into clarity for designers, developers, marketers, and content teams.
- Stay curious. Bring back smart, grounded ideas from the evolving world of AI, automation, and intelligent systems design.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in the digital space
Why Join Adage?
