AI Solutions Architect

The AI Solutions Architect is a visionary technologist and our lead futurist, responsible for driving the company's innovation in Artificial Intelligence. This role is for a proactive, independent leader who can partner with executive leadership to take a conceptual idea and develop it into a functional, market-leading solution. You will be our primary resource for "what's next," constantly researching emerging technologies, prototyping new solutions, and evangelizing the future of AI within the engineering team. You will evaluate and pioneer new AI technologies, develop proofs-of-concept, and educate our teams on the development standards and practices needed to stay on the cutting edge.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: 

• Collaborate directly with the CEO and other stakeholders to understand visionary requirements and translate them into actionable technical strategies.
• Act as the company's lead futurist, independently researching and evaluating emerging AI and software technologies for potential use cases.
• Utilize Terraform to design, build, and manage production-focused AI DevOps components and infrastructure.
• Implement robust security protocols and risk mitigation strategies for all AI solutions before they are deployed to customers.
• Maintain a production-focused mindset to accelerate the delivery of features, tools, and products for our Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) customers.
• Design, develop, and present proof-of-concept implementations for new, complex business needs, particularly in the AI space.
• Take full ownership of an idea and independently find the information, connect the dots, and drive the solution from concept to reality.
• Champion and guide our coding standards and architectural practices to incorporate modern, AI-first principles.
• Serve as the lead technical mentor on advanced topics, explaining complicated AI solutions and architectural patterns to all levels of the development team.
• Generate and evaluate multiple options for each solution, balancing innovation with risk reduction, performance, and scalability.
• Reverse engineer legacy systems to identify opportunities for migration to more modern, intelligent, and high-performance frameworks.
• Conduct all business in accordance with Higher Logic policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Expertise in Python.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform.
• A demonstrable passion and deep understanding of the AI/ML space, including current trends, models, and application opportunities.
• An insatiable curiosity and a proactive drive to constantly seek out what's next in technology.
• Exceptional ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and make decisions with limited information.
• Expert proficiency with SQL and relational databases.
• Extensive knowledge of architectural design patterns and how to apply them to create practical, high-performance solutions.
• The ability to clearly and enthusiastically share knowledge and inspire a culture of innovation.

EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

• This is a senior role requiring significant professional experience. We are looking for a candidate who typically has a minimum of 12 years of related experience and a degree, or 15+ years of experience in the field. A strong portfolio of personal or professional projects in the AI/ML space can be considered a significant asset.
