Role Description: AI Software Engineering Co-op - Infrastructure

Role Purpose:

Wasabi Tech is currently seeking co-op candidates between the periods of May through November (6 months total) to join our Infrastructure team this year. This position is an individual contributor role. Ideal candidates are majoring in computer engineering, computer science or data science with strong OOD, OOP, ML, AI and understanding of data analysis. You will use your software design and development knowledge to help a team dedicated to supporting highly reliable, secure, scalable, and innovative applications for Wasabi's hot cloud storage service. You should have expertise in agile software development, collaborate with team members, and be a pragmatic problem-solver. You should also demonstrate excellent communication skills, effectively connect with other engineering teams, and have a solid foundation in software design.

Requirements:

  • A current Master's student, working towards a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Able to work full-time during the time of the co-op.
  • Located within the Eastern timezone, preferably in the Massachusetts area.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts such as supervised learning, model evaluation, or basic neural networks.
  • Understanding of observability fundamentals including logging, metrics, and tracing.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java.
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs, data pipelines, or scripting tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work under general supervision and follow established team processes and best practices.
