Ready to join a mission that matters? The future of cybersecurity starts with you.
About the Role:
As an AI Fraud and Risk Automation Analyst working with the eCommerce team, you will be on the front lines of protecting CrowdStrike's intellectual property and preventing our cutting-edge security products from falling into adversarial hands. You'll join a world-class team of risk experts where you will develop the tools, leverage AI-powered analytics, and build the investigative expertise needed to stay ahead of some of the most sophisticated threat actors in the world.
This role combines data science, threat intelligence, and cybersecurity expertise to create a dynamic risk detection system. You'll work with large-scale datasets in Snowflake, develop AI-assisted detection models, and build automated workflows that identify fraudulent activity before it impacts the business.
What You’ll Do:
Risk Detection & Analysis:
Parse and analyze large volumes of transactional and behavioral data to identify indicators of fraud and risk
Develop and maintain a rules-based risk engine that adapts to emerging threat patterns
Conduct ad hoc investigations on suspicious activity and emerging risk scenarios
Serve as the subject matter expert on fraud patterns, adversarial tactics, and risk mitigation strategies
Data Engineering & Analytics:
Design, build, and maintain Snowflake tables, views, and data pipelines to support risk detection workflows
Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze risk-related data at scale
Create and optimize data models that enable real-time and batch risk scoring
Develop Python scripts to automate data collection, analysis, and reporting processes
AI & Machine Learning Integration:
Leverage AI tools (including LLMs) to enhance fraud detection capabilities and generate risk insights
Collaborate with data science teams to implement machine learning models for anomaly detection
Use AI-assisted analysis to identify patterns in unstructured data (emails, user behavior, device fingerprints)
Continuously refine AI-powered detection rules based on feedback and emerging threats
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
Effectively communicate risk findings to technical and non-technical audiences across the organization
Document risk assessments, investigation findings, and rule changes in a clear, actionable manner
Work collaboratively with eCommerce, Sales, Legal, and Security teams to improve CrowdStrike's overall risk posture
Serve as the risk liaison for the eCommerce team, providing expertise and guidance on fraud prevention
Incident Response & Monitoring:
Monitor the risk engine and Slack channels for real-time alerts and triage incidents as they unfold
Diagnose and respond to risk engine failures, false positives, and system anomalies
Review daily risk metrics and dashboards to identify trends and areas for improvement
Proactively identify vulnerabilities in the customer onboarding process and recommend mitigations
What You’ll Need:
6+ months of experience managing a risk engine or fraud detection system in an eCommerce or SaaS environment with a demonstrable track record of using rules-based approaches to prevent unauthorized access
Strong SQL skills with experience querying and managing data in Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses
Proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, and scripting
Cybersecurity knowledge: Strong understanding of adversarial tactics, fraud vectors, and threat intelligence
Analytical mindset: Ability to think like an adversary, identify patterns in complex datasets, and make data-driven decisions under pressure
Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into business recommendations
Self-starter mentality: Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Bonus points:
Experience with AI/LLM tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) for data analysis, threat intelligence, or automation
Familiarity with machine learning concepts and anomaly detection techniques
Experience building and maintaining Snowflake data models, including tables, views, and stored procedures
Knowledge of eCommerce fraud vectors such as account takeover, payment fraud, trial abuse, and bot attacks
Understanding of the SaaS business model and cloud-based platform sales
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, or similar)
Familiarity with IPQS, Stripe, or other fraud detection APIs
Background in threat intelligence, incident response, or SOC operations
A Typical Day:
Morning: Review overnight risk metrics, investigate flagged accounts, and triage alerts from the risk engine
Midday: Write and refine SQL queries to analyze emerging fraud patterns; update Snowflake views to support new detection rules
Afternoon: Collaborate with stakeholders on ad hoc risk analyses; use AI tools to summarize findings and generate reports
Ongoing: Monitor Slack channels for real-time risk events; respond to incidents and adjust rules as needed
End of Day: Document findings, update risk dashboards, and prepare recommendations for rule improvements
