Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain new features across Visia's engineering services such as our client-facing web and mobile apps, computer vision pipeline, and IoT software
- Maintain system reliability by monitoring, debugging, and resolving technical issues to ensure smooth operations across multiple platforms
- Collaborate with other engineers to write well-documented and maintainable code that supports our mission of building technology for a greener future
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings and contribute to Visia's overall product roadmap, helping to shape the future of recycling and green tech
- You have 1+ years of full-time work experience in Software Engineering and a passion for using technology to drive positive change
- You have strong programming skills in one or more commonly used programming languages (we use Python, TypeScript, and Go among others)
- You are familiar with or have experience with any of the following:
- Full stack development
- Web/Mobile app development and design
- UI/UX best practices
- Building and scaling data streaming pipelines
- Integrating with (ingesting → condensing → conveying) large amounts of data like images, logs, metrics, alerts, etc.
- Knowledge of MLOps or computer vision techniques is a plus
- You are comfortable working with at least some of the following technologies and are eager and able to learn others as needed:
- Mobile/Frontend development (React / React Native or similar frameworks)
- Cloud computing services (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure)
- CI/CD, IaC and containerization tools (Docker, Terraform, Github Actions)
- Database languages, tools, and systems (SQL, dbt, Postgres, ClickHouse)

- Building customer-facing applications to facilitate alerting on prohibited items in a material stream
- Developing internal tooling for remotely monitoring the health of, configuring, and controlling our fleet
- Accelerating machine learning workflows by optimizing data pipelines and enabling seamless data transfer between edge devices and the cloud
- Working directly with our customers and product team to build features
- Salary: $110,000 - $180,000 + options
