What's the role?

Modern Campus is embarking on a long-term journey to responsibly adopt, scale, and lead with AI across our organization. As our AI Enablement Lead, you’ll be at the heart of this transformation - helping every team understand, embrace, and harness AI to work smarter, faster, and more creatively. 

This is a strategic individual contributor role with broad influence across Development, InfoSec, and Business Operations. You’ll design and deliver AI education programs, shape responsible-use guardrails, and accelerate adoption through hands-on support and internal tools. You’ll own the Modern Campus AI Hub and AI Champion Program, driving a culture of curiosity and continuous learning. You’ll also partner closely with leaders to identify emerging trends, evaluate opportunities, and ensure we stay ahead of the curve in a rapidly evolving landscape. 

This is our first AI hire, and the role will grow with us. As our AI and data capabilities scale, this position will become central to how we use insights, automation, and innovation to power our 2030 vision. It’s a chance to help define how a modern SaaS company integrates AI into its daily operations and culture - responsibly, creatively, and with measurable impact. 

You’ll be the bridge between experimentation and sustainable adoption - helping Modern Campus use AI confidently, securely, and with clarity, now and into the future. You’ll have support from the VP of Enterprise Systems, our AI Governance Office, and a growing network of internal champions. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Enablement & Culture (50%) 

• Own and evolve the internal AI Hub as a central resource for training, documentation, and tools 
• Run the AI Champion Program to support adoption and distributed leadership across departments 
• Develop and deliver training programs, office hours, and documentation for safe, effective AI use 
• Serve as a cross-functional coach and enabler to help teams integrate AI into their workflows 

Trend Tracking & Direction (20%) 

• Stay ahead of AI and LLM developments (e.g. Claude, OpenAI, Bedrock) and assess their relevance to Modern Campus 
• Provide regular strategic updates to internal stakeholders with curated insights and recommendations 
• Help leadership prioritize emerging AI opportunities and avoid hype-driven distractions 

Technical Contribution & Tooling (30%) 

• Contribute to the development and improvement of department-owned, AI-enabled tools and process automations 
• Build or maintain reusable scripts, wrappers, or lightweight APIs that integrate with LLMs and internal systems 
• Partner with ES and Development teams to deliver AI-driven internal capabilities 

What you offer...

Must-Have: 

• 5+ years in technical roles (engineering, systems, product, data) with experience developing and adopting AI as a workflow enabler. 
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to influence without authority 
• Strong communicator and trainer; experienced in writing clear documentation or running training sessions 
• Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, or API-based AI tools 
• Comfortable scripting or integrating tools in Python, JavaScript, or similar 

Nice-to-Have: 

• Experience building internal enablement programs or developer platforms 
• Familiarity with AWS AI services (e.g., Bedrock, SageMaker, Comprehend) 
• Exposure to AI governance, model evaluation, or risk frameworks 
• Experience with chatbots, knowledge bases, or RAG-style architectures
