Agile Product Owner - BA07DE

We’re determined to make a difference and are proud to be an insurance company that goes well beyond coverages and policies. Working here means having every opportunity to achieve your goals – and to help others accomplish theirs, too. Join our team as we help shape the future.

Why this role exists:

We’re launching multi-year program End-to-End (E2E) transformation that requires tight coordination across Policy, Billing, Premium Audit, Data, and Customer-facing touchpoints. We’re looking for a passionate T7 APO to drive execution, with a roadmap for the transformation that involves components of agentic and generative AI, our enterprise digital tools and existing IT platforms. You’ll own value delivery for this E2E Transformation for Premium Audit within the PARIS Agile Release Train (ART), partnering closely with Premium Audit Operations, Billing partners, and our internal customers across Small Business and Middle & Large market segments to reduce premium leakage, accelerate audit cycle time, and improve customer/partner experience while leveraging new agentic AI and generative AI tools.

WORK ARRANGEMENTS:

This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work schedule.  Candidates who live near one of our offices will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week. Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead product execution for the agile team supporting Premium Audit capabilities within PARIS ART; articulate and evolve vision/roadmap aligned to E2E Transformation objectives and business value targets (premium accuracy, cycle time, audit exception rate, write-offs, NPS).
  • Engage with business and technology stakeholders to identify product enhancement opportunities and implications across Premium Audit, Billing, Policy, and Data/Reporting systems.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Voice of the Customer (Small Business, Middle & Large) and Voice of the Business (Premium Audit Ops, Billing, Finance/Controls), using insights to guide backlog priorities and trade-offs.
  • Provide perspective on portfolio vision and roadmap; aid in breaking down epics into features; translate portfolio themes and epics into Features and Stories.
  • Manage the team’s product backlog: break down features into stories, define acceptance criteria, and prioritize to maximize business value; ensure backlog health and readiness.
  • Ensure the agile team understands the items in the backlog and their business value; guide sprint goals aligned to the product vision and roadmap, linking execution to business outcomes.
  • Accept completed stories that meet the definition of done and quality expectations; validate functionality meets the product vision and incorporate feedback from sprint demos and PI events.
  • Orchestrate capabilities end-to-end—from audit selection & scheduling through billing adjustments, reconciliation, and customer communications—ensuring process integrity and minimizing handoffs and exceptions.
  • Proactively manage program-to-program dependencies and integration enablers with Billing Strategy, Underwriting, Operations, Data/Analytics, and Technology (APMs, Architects, Tech/Delivery Leads) to avoid delays and technical debt.
  • Partner with Scrum Master, agile teams, APMs, Architects, Tech Leads, Delivery Leads, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions deliver the business vision and value; create an inclusive and collaborative team environment.
  • Drive business readiness and change management (training, playbooks, communications, adoption metrics) in partnership with Premium Audit Operations and Billing.
  • Monitor and share execution progress including risks and impediments; analyze delivery metrics (throughput/flow, quality, adoption, financial outcomes) to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience influencing stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams in complex delivery environments.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in Agile Product Owner or related product role in the insurance industry (commercial lines preferred).
  • Exceptional relationship management, collaboration, and communication skills; ability to tailor messages to varying levels of leadership and across business/technology domains.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; adept at breaking down complex processes and connecting execution to measurable business outcomes.
  • Hands-on agile delivery expertise (SAFe/Scrum/Kanban), including feature decomposition, acceptance criteria, and outcome-based prioritization; experience with agile lifecycle tools (e.g., Rally, JIRA).
  • Data-driven mindset; proficiency with analytics/insight tools (e.g., ThoughtSpot, Tableau, Excel) to inform hypotheses, experiments, and prioritization decisions.
  • Premium Audit and/or Billing domain experience (process, systems, financial controls) strongly preferred; adjacent experience in Underwriting/Operations with demonstrated aptitude to ramp quickly considered.
  • Experience with change management frameworks (e.g., ADKAR) and collaboration tools (PowerPoint, MS Teams).
  • Clear preference for working collaboratively in an inclusive team environment; self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage multiple high-priority demands.
  • Basic AI, Copilot and Chat GPT knowledge is preferred.

SUCCESS MEASURES

  • Premium accuracy & leakage: Net improvement driven by audit/billing adjustments and reduced write-offs.
  • Cycle time: Faster end-to-end audit completion (from initiation to final billing).
  • Experience: Lower rebill/exception rates; improved feedback from customers and Premium Audit Ops.
  • Delivery health: Predictable PI objectives met; flow/quality metrics trending in the right direction.
