Job Description
Why This Role

Assist Chat is our flagship conversational AI for public safety—already live in 9-1-1 centers, patrol vehicles, and real-time crime centers. We’ve built the interface. We’ve embedded it into workflows. Now we’re scaling the intelligence behind it.

This Agentic DevOps Engineer role is an opportunity to automate and enhance all stages of the software development lifecycle for products that push the frontier of how public safety professionals interact with AI.

Your Mission
  • Implement and manage AI-driven DevOps processes to automate and enhance every stage of the software development lifecycle, from planning to maintenance.

  • Deploy and oversee AI agents as autonomous team members capable of handling routine tasks, troubleshooting, and optimizing infrastructure.

  • Continuously monitor, refine, and optimize AI agent workflows to improve system performance, resource allocation, and application reliability.

  • Proactively identify and resolve system anomalies, leveraging self-healing infrastructure capabilities to maintain operational stability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed AI directly into real-time workflows—no labs, no “eventual” use cases..

  • Drive innovation by enabling engineering teams to focus on complex, strategic initiatives while AI agents handle repetitive and operational tasks.

  • Collaborate with AI researchers and responsible AI team to build the best possible AI solutions for our teams.

What You Bring
  • Proven ability to communicate technical information effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, with both local and remote teams

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, with a strong focus on automation, infrastructure management, and CI/CD processes.

  • 2+ years of experience with AI technologies or AI-driven tools, including their integration into development workflows.

  • Familiarity with LLM ecosystems (OpenAI, Claude, Mistral, Llama, etc.) and modern AI stacks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Ray, Hugging Face).

  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).

  • Strong programming skills in Python development and testing (and ideally some experience working alongside full-stack engineers).

  • Proven ability to work independently, solve complex problems proactively, and improve processes through intelligent automation.

  • Pragmatism—able to operate in applied, real-world settings with real constraints.

  • Bonus: experience with AI safety, model evaluation, or regulated domains.

Why You Might Join
  • You want to move fast without compromising safety—and you care about what your infrastructure enables.

  • You’re looking for a team that’s already shipping—and will put your work into production quickly.

  • You’re motivated by a mission that’s hard to fake: getting first responders the right info, right now.

  • You want to be the first Agentic DevOps hire on a flagship product, helping shape both the direction and the foundation.
