Agency Account Representative (Title Insurance)
Job Description:
The successful candidate for this position will coordinate, manage, and develop a network of independent agents within an assigned area by providing escrow, title, accounting and marketing support to the existing and potential agents. You will also have the opportunity to determine and develop any agent acquisitions or other business relationships with agents.
This position will cover the whole New Mexico territory (state) and regular auto travel to agency locations will be a weekly occurrence. Expect two days per week in office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
A. Existing Agent Network
Visit agents on a regular basis as assigned by manager. Communicate via mail, email or phone, any information that will assist or educate the agent in producing correct title policies and commitments and in maintaining other aspects of their operation. Assist the agents in matters of state department of insurance regulation, compliance and licensing issues and requirements. Within the boundaries of applicable regulations, assist the agents in their marketing efforts to obtain business from realtors, lenders, builders, and attorneys in the local, regional and national markets. Assist the agent in any other area(s) determined necessary by the agency representative, their supervisor, and the agent. Monitor agent’s remittance levels and seek to maximize Old Republic's underwriting percentage with each agent. Monitor required UW standards including but not limited to timely remittance, payment, excess limit review, and matters determined during audits.
B. Prospective Agents
Develop a list of prospective agents to determine their possible level of remittances as well as their competence level to be a quality agent. Call on the prospective agent(s) to present Old Republic Title in a professional matter and then determine if the prospect should be signed as an agent.
C. Follow-up with the prospective agent(s) with additional information, or to obtain the agency application.
D. General Duties
Represent and attend meetings and other functions of the appropriate state associations and those of other industry and trade groups. Attend and participate in education opportunities as provide by Old Republic Title and/or other state associations or related industries. Promote Old Republic Title and the industry by presenting yourself in a professional manner while in the office and community and while out of the office on company business. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS CONTINUED:
At a minimum, the ability to work from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Regular consistent attendance is required, that could include attendance at after hour events.
Ability to accept supervision.
Ability to foster, develop and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships.
Must be able to get along with others, i.e., peers, supervisors, customers, and vendors.
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees and customers by email, phone and in person.
Must be personable, positive, and a professional representative of the Company.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Strong knowledge of object-oriented design principles.
Ability to work successfully both independently and within team environments.
Self-motivated, self-directed individual who takes pride in their work product.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects personally and managing staff.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficient in ADB, Sales Force, Stars Link, Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance is required.
Ability to work with confidential information.
Ability to perform under pressure and be flexible with disruptions throughout the workday.
Repetitive and continual typing motion is required.
