Position Summary

We’re seeking an Advanced DevOps Engineer with a strong background in both cloud and on-prem, infrastructure automation, and developer enablement. You’ll join a high-impact platform engineering team responsible for evolving our hybrid infrastructure, streamlining CI/CD workflows, and improving reliability, performance, and observability across the stack. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-autonomy environments, writes clean and scalable infrastructure-as-code, and builds tools developers actually want to use.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure on AWS using Terraform, CDK, or similar tools
  • Own and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar), supporting high-velocity engineering teams
  • Champion containerization and orchestration solutions (ECS, EKS, or similar)
  • Collaborate with security and engineering to implement guardrails, IAM roles, and secure networking patterns
  • Improve and standardize observability tools (e.g., Datadog, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry)
  • Conduct root cause analysis and drive incident response and reliability initiatives
  • Document infrastructure designs and evangelize best practices across engineering
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or DevOps roles
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS services, especially EC2, ECS, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation/CDK
  • Strong Terraform or other IaC experience
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Experience designing and supporting CI/CD systems
  • Familiarity with container runtimes (Docker) and orchestration (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of systems observability and monitoring stacks

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with tools like Datadog, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Prometheus
  • Background in networking, especially VPC design and service mesh technologies
  • Exposure to SOC2 or other compliance frameworks
  • Experience with developer portals or internal tooling for self-service infrastructure
  • Contributions to open source projects or a personal portfolio of tooling projects
