Position Purpose: Learn about various processes and functions within the Managed Care industry and develop professionally by contributing to projects that support the business.

  • Apply academic knowledge and learn new skills by contributing to various projects

  • Research various legal, regulatory, and other topics within functional area and industry

  • Attend training and development presentations to enhance professional competencies
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Complies with all policies and standards

The Actuarial Intern will support the Marketplace Actuarial team. The internship will allow the selected students to learn actuarial concepts including forecasting, assumption building, reserving and modeling. Interns who are working towards an actuarial designation will gain hands-on actuarial experience on assumption-setting and modeling.

As an Actuarial Services Intern, you will:

  • Receive individualized training to significantly expand your skillset during the internship

  • Receive industry-specific as well as basic to intermediate software training classes as part of the program

  • Engage with weekly trainings in many finance areas of the company

Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university or college, preferably in a field related to the hiring department through the internship period.

The salary range is: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, degree program, degree level, number of years of participation in the internship program, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including competitive pay, health insurance, 401(k) and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field, or office work schedules. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
