  • Identify training needs and support career growth opportunities within the accounting team.

Financial Close & Reporting

  • Oversee and actively participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established deadlines.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by the accounting team.
  • Prepare and/or review financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses for presentation to the Controller and senior leadership.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in the general ledger.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; coordinate audit requests, prepare schedules, and facilitate the audit process.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to accounting policies and procedures across the team.

Accounting Operations

  • Work together with Shared Services teams responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and general ledger, as needed.
  • Review and approve reconciliations of bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., FP&A, Operations, HR) to ensure accurate financial reporting and resolution of accounting issues.
  • Support the preparation of schedules and analysis for tax filings, budgets, and forecasts.

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations.
