This role is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing regional accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial processes. The Accounting Manager will manage core functions including financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, and regulatory compliance, while leading and developing a team of accounting professionals.

Duties

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards.
  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls and internal audit requirements to safeguard company assets.
  • Lead the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and financial analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, interpret complex financial data, and communicate insights to senior management.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development and maintaining high team performance.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting obligations, including tax filings and other statutory requirements.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms to streamline operations.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities to align with organizational goals.

Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • CPA license preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s a plus)
  • Experience in multi-entity or platform environments strongly preferred
  • ERP experience required (Sage Intacct or similar systems a plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead processes and manage priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial concepts for non-finance stakeholders

The annual pay opportunity for this role ranges from $120K to $150K/yr DOE. The actual pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Other rewards may include incentive plan opportunities and annual bonus eligibility.
