GridX is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team! The Accounting Manager will report to the Controller and will be a key contributor to the day-to-day accounting operations and financial month-end close processes. Key responsibilities include ownership of the monthly financial close, managing the revenue recognition process in compliance with ASC606, AP, billing, and payroll. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with full-cycle accounting. Candidates in PST or MST time zones strongly preferred. 

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Manage all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, expense reports, monthly close process and fixed assets.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP or applicable standards.
  • Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, and monthly analysis of variances to budget/forecast.
  • Analyze financial results and key performance indicators to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare journal entries and associated schedules in compliance with GAAP and company policies to ensure accurate and timely month-end close process.
  • Complete monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including, but not limited to, cash, prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, deferred revenue, and payroll.
  • Assist with tracking and calculating monthly sales commissions.
  • Prepare monthly financial variance analyses and assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports/package.
  • Support external audit requirements and actively contribute to related team deliverables.
  • Participate in corporate compliance functions including audit, tax and other items as deemed necessary.
  • Evaluate and make appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Perform timely follow up on outstanding issues, requests for information, and other research between departments and external parties.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and drive business performance, including monthly/quarterly department financial reviews.
  • Develop accounting organizational strategies by contributing accounting and financial information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.

Qualifications/Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 7+ years full-cycle accounting experience required
  • At least 2 years prior SaaS experience required
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
  • Proven experience with cash flow forecasting and treasury management.
  • Prior experience in an early stage/start-up environment preferred
  • Public accounting foundation preferred
  • Prior experience with a combination of the following: QuickBooks Online (QBO), NetSuite, Bill.com, Divvy, Carta.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Possess the ability to work independently and prioritize concurrent deliverables
  • Experience with process improvement preferred

Your Location

Because of the location of the current team, it is preferred that the selected candidate be located in MST or PST time zones but it is not required. The role will include occasional work at a GridX We-work office or attendance at offsites and/or customer sites, as determined by your role’s responsibilities and agreed to with your manager. 

Compensation

Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and geographic location. The expected base salary range for this role is $110,000 to $140,000 per year. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications, experience and location.
