As our Accounting Associate, you will focus on assisting the Finance team with all areas of accounting including transaction entry, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll preparation and month-end close responsibilities.

You will report directly to the Accounting Manager.

To be successful in this role:

• Transaction Entry: Have a working knowledge of QuickBooks Online in order to assist with entering daily transactions including receiving domestic / foreign payments and entering credit card activity.
• Accounts Receivable: Invoicing with a high level of attention to detail that all fees, rates, purchase order numbers, currency, invoicing minimums / maximums and contacts / client portals are accurate according to current contract terms and requirements.   
• Accounts Payable: Entering vendor invoices into Bill.com while assigning proper expense accounts, classes, due dates and approvers to each invoice.
• Payroll: Prepare bi-weekly and off-cycle pay runs in Rippling ensuring proper workpaper documentation for all extraordinary items resulting in changes to the normal activity.
• Close Procedures: Assist with month / quarter / year-end close activities including workpaper preparation, entering journal entries and reconciling accounts.
• Financial statement / 401(k) audits: Gather supporting documentation for our annual audits.   
• Ad hoc projects: Offer flexibility and willingness to assist fellow Finance team members with special projects as needed.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be open to learning, experimenting, and evolving. Comfort with emerging technology and curiosity around how tools like AI can support your workflow or help families more effectively is a plus.

• 2+ years of experience as a staff accountant in a public accounting or professional services environment where bookkeeping / payroll services were performed.
• BA/BS degree in accounting or related field (experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
• Highly organized and detail oriented in workpaper preparation and documentation with accuracy as the main focus.  
• Proficiency and aptitude for applicable software proficiency with macOS systems, GSuite, Slack, Rippling and QuickBooks Online.

Qualifications that are preferred but not mandatory:

• CPA preferred, but not required.
• Experience/knowledge of accounting within the Healthcare / Technology industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of Rippling payroll software is a plus.
• Experience working in a remote environment.

Total Rewards Package

The starting salary for this position is $60,000-$69,000.

This is a remote and US states based opportunity. We ask that you work in a location that is:

• Private, with secure (not public) internet and phone access

• Given the nature of the material you will be working on and handling, you are required to work from a private, dedicated, distraction-free space
