Location: London/South (Hybrid)

Role Type: Permanent

Clearance: SC eligible

Who we are?

We're the largest pure play Quality Engineering consultancy in the UK.

Over the past 6 years, we've redefined what quality and testing look like at 2i and to our clients. Born from a desire to view quality holistically across the entire SDLC, our Quality Engineers (QEs) are at the heart of delivering world-class consultancy services.

Why Us?

Proudly certified as a "Great Place to Work", 2i are the chosen employer of around 300 QEs, and we're continuing our growth.

What we're looking for…

We're looking for people who let curiosity lead them. We don't expect to have a team of "experts". What we do expect is for #Team2i to be...

  • Inquisitive
  • Open to challenge and be challenged
  • Taking initiative
  • Accountable

You'll be someone who enjoys building lasting client relationships, understands the commercial drivers behind successful partnerships, and takes pride in helping clients realise value. You'll be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, collaborating across teams and identifying opportunities to develop existing accounts.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Account Manager to own the relationships and commercial health of a portfolio of 2i clients.

You'll act as the primary point of contact for your accounts, building long-term partnerships with senior client stakeholders and ensuring they continue to realise value from our services. Working closely with Delivery, Sales, Operations and Consulting & Solutions, you'll help develop existing accounts, identify opportunities for growth and ensure client relationships remain productive and commercially successful.

This isn't a traditional sales role. It's about taking ownership of client relationships, understanding their needs, identifying opportunities to grow our partnerships and applying a commercial mindset to account management.

You'll oversee account plans, monitor revenue and margins, support commercial negotiations and work collaboratively with delivery teams to maintain client confidence and satisfaction. You'll also help demonstrate the value 2i brings to clients through regular account reviews, value reporting and client advocacy.

The role offers hybrid working but, given the nature of our clients, would suit someone based in London/South who is happy to travel to client offices around 2–3 days per week.

You'll need to be...

  • Experienced in account management, with a track record of building and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Experienced in the public sector, with an understanding of its clients, stakeholders and commercial environment.
  • Confident engaging with and influencing senior client stakeholders, including executive sponsors.
  • Commercially minded, with experience developing existing accounts and identifying opportunities for organic growth.
  • Experienced in account planning, including revenue and margin forecasting, account performance reporting and improvement planning.
  • Comfortable supporting commercial negotiations, contract discussions and work-order processes.
  • Experienced in managing multiple accounts, balancing competing priorities and maintaining excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident managing client escalations, working with internal teams to resolve issues and maintain client confidence.
  • Able to monitor account performance against client objectives and communicate progress clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experienced in demonstrating client value through account reviews, ROI reporting or similar value-based reporting.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively across Delivery, Sales, Operations and Consulting & Solutions, understanding the different responsibilities of each team.
  • Familiar with the client service lifecycle, from onboarding and ongoing engagement through to service exit and transition.
  • Experienced in CRM systems such as Salesforce or NetSuite, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • A confident communicator with excellent listening, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Proactive, organised and accountable, with the ability to identify risks, solve problems and take ownership of outcomes.

Due to the nature of our clients, you'll also need to be eligible for Security Clearance (SC).

What we can offer you...

  • Leadership pathways tailored to your personal and professional development, providing clear direction for your career at 2i.
  • 26 days annual leave, plus the option to buy or sell up to five additional days.
  • Private Healthcare alongside a range of wellbeing benefits, including gym memberships, counselling services and Cycle to Work schemes.
  • Annual performance bonus.
  • Flexible hybrid working.
  • The opportunity to work alongside talented people across 2i, building meaningful client partnerships and contributing to the continued growth of the business.

What if you're a partial fit?

Curious? We'd love to hear from you.

We don't believe in the "perfect" hire. What we do believe in is building diverse teams with different perspectives, backgrounds and experiences. If you're passionate about building client relationships, enjoy the commercial side of account management and are excited by the opportunity to develop long-term partnerships, we'd encourage you to apply, even if you don't meet every requirement.
