The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to bring world-class strength and conditioning technology to the teams that need it most. As an Account Executive for Teamworks Strength & Conditioning, you'll own sales across North America's professional sports landscape and National Governing Bodies (NGBs). From NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB franchises to USA Swimming, USA Track & Field, and Olympic sports organizations, you're not just selling software; you're solving real problems for strength coaches, sports scientists, and performance directors who are hungry for better ways to optimize athlete development, manage training loads, and make data-driven decisions that impact wins and losses.

Backed by Teamworks' Performance ecosystem (AMS, Nutrition, EMR, S&C), you'll build your territory from the ground up, establishing yourself as the go-to partner for elite performance organizations. Your background as a practitioner gives you instant credibility: you speak the language, you've lived the workflows, and you understand what coaches actually need. This isn't a transactional sales role; it's a consultative partnership where your expertise drives both revenue and genuine impact on how teams train, compete, and win.

This is your opportunity to build something meaningful while scaling with one of the fastest-growing companies in sports tech.

What You'll Do

  • Own and execute the complete sales cycle for Teamworks Strength & Conditioning across North America professional sports teams and National Governing Bodies, from prospecting to close

  • Build a sustainable pipeline and identify cross-sell opportunities across the Performance vertical (AMS, Nutrition)

  • Build deep relationships with strength coaches, performance directors, sports scientists, and athletic administrators who make purchasing decisions

  • Conduct product demonstrations that connect S&C features directly to real-world coaching workflows, training periodization, and load management challenges

  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Implementation teams to ensure seamless handoffs and successful customer onboarding

  • Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes involving athletics leadership, IT/operations, and performance staff

  • Maintain disciplined pipeline management and accurate forecasting in Salesforce

  • Leverage your practitioner background to establish peer-to-peer credibility and consultative partnerships with prospects

What You'll Bring

Must-haves:

  • Applied sports science background with hands-on experience in strength & conditioning, sports performance, or related athletic performance disciplines

  • Deep understanding of training methodologies, periodization models, load management strategies, and performance data used in elite athletics

  • Proven ability to build relationships and navigate organizational dynamics within professional sports or National Governing Body environments

  • Experience managing complex sales processes with multiple stakeholders and long sales cycles

  • Comfort with technology and ability to learn and demonstrate SaaS platforms effectively

  • Track record of achieving targets through consultative, relationship-driven selling

  • Based in or willing to relocate to Durham, North Carolina

Nice-to-haves:

  • Previous sales, business development, or account management experience in SaaS or sports technology

  • Familiarity with Teamworks Performance products (S&C, AMS, Nutrition) or similar athlete monitoring platforms

  • Existing network within professional sports or National Governing Bodies

  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems

  • Understanding of athletic performance technology landscape and competitive solutions

Who Thrives Here

You don't wait for someone to hand you a playbook; you build your own. You're naturally curious, asking the right questions to uncover what prospects actually need, not just what they think they want. Your practitioner background gives you instant credibility, but you've learned to balance technical expertise with business acumen. You're comfortable navigating ambiguity, whether that's building your territory strategy or adapting your approach based on each prospect's unique environment. You thrive on long sales cycles because you know institutional trust takes time to build, and you're patient but persistent in nurturing relationships. Collaboration comes naturally: you work seamlessly with Customer Success, Product, and Implementation to advance deals and deliver value. You're driven by results, energized by challenge, and aligned with our values: honesty, humility, hard work, commitment, innovation, and exceptionalism.
