About Kojo

It's time to build. Whether it's creating more housing, upgrading our infrastructure, or adapting to climate change, one thing is clear: the construction industry is at the center of solving our biggest problems. We’re making buildings cheaper and easier to build by transforming the way commercial construction companies buy their materials. Join us.

Founded in 2018, Kojo is now one of the fastest-growing construction technology companies in the world. Construction accounts for $10 trillion in global spend annually and we can’t live without its output - our roads, schools, hospitals, and offices. Despite this, there’s been very little innovation over the past 70 years in how materials - which constitute up to 40% of project costs - are bought and sold. This is our opportunity.

Account Executive, Special Projects

About the Role: We’re looking for a high-performing teammate to join our Sales, Special Projects team—a strategic and fast-growing part of our business focused on unlocking new market opportunities. This is a full-cycle, quota-carrying role where you’ll be responsible for prospecting, closing, and expanding strategic deals tied directly to a revenue target. This is a unique role designed for professionals with deep domain expertise in commercial construction, BIM/VDC, or value-added resellers (VARs) who are passionate about driving change through innovative technology solutions. You will leverage your domain expertise, collaborate closely with our sales, product, and customer success teams to identify strategic opportunities, manage complex projects, and shape the way we deliver value to the industry. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys building from the ground up, and wants to shape the trajectory of a new business line.

About You: You have a track record of success in commercial construction or related technology industries. You know how to navigate complex project environments, understand customer needs deeply, and translate them into meaningful solutions. You thrive in cross-functional settings, communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and are comfortable rolling up your sleeves to make things happen.

What You'll Do

  • Own the full sales cycle—from identifying and prospecting strategic accounts to negotiating and closing deals. This includes generating net-new pipeline in an emerging segment through outbound efforts, industry relationships, and market knowledge.

  • Identify customer pain points and collaborate with Product and Engineering on tailored solutions

  • Serve as a subject matter expert across special project opportunities within the commercial construction ecosystem, and represent the voice of the customer internally through influence of product roadmap and positioning

  • Drive strategic deals from ideation through execution in partnership with the Sales and Solutions teams

  • Identify customer pain points and collaborate with Product and Engineering to develop tailored solutions

  • Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver customer outcomes and measure impact

  • Educate prospects and customers on our capabilities and value proposition

  • Help shape go-to-market strategies and refine messaging based on customer feedback and market trends

Qualifications: We’re open to a variety of backgrounds and experiences that could make you a great fit for this role. Some examples include:

  • 5+ years project management experience at a commercial construction company in the US with $100M+ in annual revenue

  • 5+ years field experience and 3+ years BIM/VDC experience at a commercial construction company in the US with $50M+ in annual revenue

  • 5+ years at a major value-added reseller (VAR)

  • Sales experience is a plus, but not required

  • College degree preferred but not required

If you're excited about solving real-world problems in construction and being part of a fast-moving, mission-driven team, we’d love to hear from you.
