About the Role 

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Account Executive to join our Project Solutions team. This role is responsible for developing new business opportunities and expanding relationships with existing clients in the construction insurance sector. This role focuses on the concept, design, and execution of Controlled Insurance Programs and other project and program needs, ensuring comprehensive risk management solutions tailored to clients' needs.  

The AE/PRA works closely with clients and in-house teams of brokers, Project Managers, Claims Advocates, Risk Engineers and Project Administrators to develop and implement effective insurance solutions. 

Key Responsibilities Include 

Client Relationship Management and New Business Development: 

  • Identify key stakeholders within clients’ organizations and build strong, sustainable relationships. 
  • Present custom risk management solutions to clients and prospects in a professional and clear manner. 
  • Work closely with clients to identify unmitigated risks, cross-sell complementary products and services, and deliver tailored insurance programs. 

Risk Management & Program Design: 

  • Analyze clients' risk profiles and work with the team to develop targeted marketing strategies. 
  • Review upstream contract insurance requirements and design compliant insurance programs, providing feedback on any unfavorable terms. 
  • Develop and deliver final project exposure requests and applications for underwriters. 
  • Work with sponsors to design wrap-up program bid methods. 

Carrier & Underwriter Engagement: 

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of carrier underwriting appetites and contacts to recommend the most appropriate markets for client programs. 
  • Negotiate with underwriters to secure favorable terms and conditions. 
  • Obtain and evaluate coverage quotes from carriers, addressing any binding subjectivities. 
  • Lead risk presentations to markets and respond to underwriter inquiries promptly. 

Proposal & Policy Management: 

  • Lead the preparation and approval of proposal documents, including executive overview write-ups for clients or prospects. 
  • Convert insurance proposals into formal summaries post-binding and ensure timely, accurate billing. 

Team Leadership & Delegation: 

  • Support the team’s response to requests for proposals (RFPs), ensuring timely and accurate submissions. 
  • Monitor team progress, offering guidance on project execution and the development of insurance solutions. 

Ongoing Client & Program Support: 

  • Oversee the development of Special Account Client Instructions (SACI), ensuring accountability for all ongoing activities and program deliverables. 
  • Review account receivables reports and book of business production reports for accuracy, taking action as needed to maintain financial health and program success. 
  • Additional responsibilities as required 

Skills & Experience That Lead to Success: 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on construction-related risk management and Controlled Insurance Programs. 
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships. 
  • Knowledge of carrier markets, underwriting appetites, and negotiation strategies. 
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. 
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities, with a focus on team collaboration. 
  • Proficiency in insurance management software and tools. 
  • Demonstrated technical understanding of the wrap-up administration process. 
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction contract insurance provisions and policy language. 

Additional/Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related field.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
