The Aerospace Corporation is hiring a Resiliency Engineer Graduate Intern for the Space Planning, Readiness, and Operations (SPRO) department within the Enterprise Effects Division (EED). This position will be onsite and located in Colorado Springs, CO.
The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace's strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space and space-enabled capabilities.
The Graduate Intern will join the SPRO team and support the Space Force customers with focus on bringing analytic rigor to ongoing engineering studies to support resiliency efforts. SPRO staff provide operationally-relevant space solutions for the warfighter and end users in support of our Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Defense (DoD), and civil customers. We serve as the EED and ETG entry point for wargaming and exercises, space operations planning, and operationally-focused solutions support to connect corporate technical capabilities and operational requirements, integrate capabilities across the space enterprise, and educate the workforce on space operations and warfighting. What You'll Be Doing
  • Working closely with Aerospace technical staff on a range of activities which may include developing software analysis tools, conducting modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks, reviewing and assessing sufficiency of data collected during testing and wargames, participating in wargame development, execution, and analysis exercises, and assessing risk to map systems engineering to operational needs.
  • Conducting analyses of system performance
  • Applying standard techniques and procedures to carry out a series of prescribed engineering tasks
  • Interacting directly with local Aerospace personnel and collaborating with Aerospace personnel in other locations
  • Training and mentorship will be provided

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree completed AND currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related program.
  • Minimum of Senior class standing by internship start date with graduate program beginning Fall 2026.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a degree program full- time after completion of the internship.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and in teams
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Active security clearance
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following computer languages/tools: C, C++, Python, Fortran, Java, MATLAB, Simulink
  • Military or Department of Defense (DoD) experience
  • Research or professional experience working as a member of a technical team
  • Coursework or relevant experience in technical writing and technical presentation
  • Coursework, research, or professional experience in space systems, modeling and simulation, design, systems engineering, and/or command and control
  • Prior space-related work experience for a US government agency or contractor

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
