Teams at Optum

Temporary remote pathway program for PGY3 Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residents. Participants receive financial and mentoring support, population health education, and exposure to team-based primary care through New West facilities or virtual sessions. Residents commit a few hours monthly while completing training and may transition into a full-time Optum primary care role after residency.

Handle 60-80 inbound calls daily to assist patients with medication refills, referrals, scheduling, chart troubleshooting, and demographic updates. Document interactions, escalate clinical needs to staff, and complete training/orientation. Work full-time on assigned 8-hour shifts with potential overtime and transition to remote after orientation.

Provide on-site IV therapy to pediatric and adult patients, prepare and administer sterile medications, monitor and respond to infusion reactions, document assessments, support order entry and lab review, and participate in quality assurance under NP supervision.
