Northslope
What's the Work-Life Balance Like at Northslope?
Frequently Asked Questions
At Northslope, you are given 100% trust and autonomy from day one. We care most about outcomes, not activities. So while this is not your standard 9-5, we understand you have a life outside of work and encourage you to structure your days/weeks in a way that enables you to deliver your best outcomes. There will be days where you'll surge to meet an important client deadline. Other days, you might have some more time to finally get to that internal project that's been nagging at you for some time. Sometimes you need to go to an important medical appointment in the middle of the day. The bottom line is if you are hired here, you're trusted to use your skills to deliver on outcomes; the minutiae of working hours and schedules is secondary.
Finally, the work we do is hard, and we always remind people to make sure they are taking care of themselves by taking time off to rest and recharge. That's why we encourage people to take any holiday they observe, along with a generous take-what-you-need PTO policy, and a 2 week end of year winter break.
We operate in a hybrid model, and while there’s flexibility, we’re also intentional about creating an in-person culture that people want to be part of. Right now, folks tend to come in as needed. We’re not planning to set rigid mandates, but we do believe that building strong relationships and collaborating effectively is often easier (and more fun!) in person. That said, we want the office to be a place people choose to be, so part of our focus is creating an environment where in-person time feels energizing and valuable, not performative.
