Curate marine and hydrokinetic datasets by reviewing metadata for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and repository compliance. Apply data standards, identify submission gaps, organize disparate data, and collaborate with researchers to resolve issues. Support energy research through data management, analysis, literature review, and documentation. The role requires independent judgment, attention to detail, and practical solutions for complex data organization challenges.

Conducts connected-vehicle V2X communications research by cleaning and analyzing field-test logs, calibrating LTE-V2X simulation models, and developing machine-learning surrogate models. The intern will write documented Python code, run workflows on high-performance computing systems, validate model accuracy and efficiency, and contribute to technical reports, presentations, and publications while collaborating with multidisciplinary research teams.

Conduct research applying machine learning, explainable AI, uncertainty quantification, and model safety to cybersecurity for power-grid substations and critical energy infrastructure. Analyze cyber-physical datasets, develop explainability and confidence methods, evaluate model robustness, design operator-facing visualizations and alerts, and collaborate with cybersecurity and AI teams to document findings and deployment guidelines.
