Design and optimize large, ultra-stable optical mounts for high-energy laser systems. Responsibilities include mechanical, thermal, vibration, and precision kinematic analysis; material and adjustment-component selection; CAD modeling; prototype testing; and correlating FEA predictions with experimental measurements. The role collaborates with optical physicists, systems engineers, controls engineers, and manufacturing teams to maintain micron-level positioning and angular stability under demanding conditions.
