Underwriting Interns learn surety underwriting fundamentals, apply concepts to real accounts, present underwriting findings, participate in educational sessions, set and pursue goals, and complete a capstone project. The role provides exposure to underwriting, product, and claims professionals while developing financial analysis, communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills.

Manage surety underwriting for contract and commercial accounts, perform financial and account analysis, prepare renewals, maintain agency relationships, supervise bond processing, recommend actions, ensure file accuracy, and communicate with branch and home office stakeholders.

Lead and grow the surety business across CO, NM, WY, and NV. Set regional strategy, manage budgets and staff, coach underwriters, maintain agency relationships, ensure profitable underwriting and documentation, and represent the company in industry functions.
