Leads commercial surety underwriting for the Southwest region, overseeing risk selection, pricing, retention, growth, profitability, and compliance. Reviews underwriting decisions, evaluates financial and credit information, manages stakeholder relationships, supports timely business decisions, and coaches team members. The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 9+ years of related experience, and at least 4 years of management experience. It involves in-office work and travel within the assigned territory.

Investigates and evaluates workers’ compensation and commercial auto subrogation claims, develops recovery strategies, gathers evidence, negotiates settlements, and manages complex matters across multiple jurisdictions. Partners with adjusters, attorneys, experts, insureds, and other stakeholders while protecting recovery rights, monitoring legal deadlines, attending proceedings, and providing recovery recommendations to leadership.

Investigates, evaluates, and resolves workers’ compensation claims, including coverage and liability reviews, settlements, reserves, payments, and compliance. Handles arbitrations, mediations, depositions, and trials as needed. Communicates claim decisions to stakeholders, provides technical guidance, and may coach or manage staff. Requires multi-state adjuster licensing and substantial workers’ compensation claims experience.
