Investigates, evaluates, reserves, negotiates, and settles complex workers’ compensation claims within authority. Reviews coverage and compensability, determines liability, coordinates appraisals and litigation strategy, identifies recovery opportunities, authorizes payments, prepares reports, and participates in claim reviews. The role also supports supervisors and attorneys, trains employees, and mentors new hires while ensuring claims are handled promptly, equitably, and cost-effectively.

Leads service center and satellite claims operations, overseeing staffing, workflows, budgets, claim quality, reserves, investigations, compliance, productivity, and client service. Manages supervisors and staff through hiring, coaching, performance reviews, and development. Ensures adherence to policies, carrier and client standards, and security procedures while supporting sales activities and communicating operational issues to senior management.

Manages a liability claims team by assigning and reviewing claims, ensuring timely resolution, balancing workloads, coaching examiners, overseeing reserves and settlements, and maintaining compliance with company, client, and carrier standards. Establishes performance expectations, conducts evaluations, administers personnel actions, develops employees, prepares teams for claim reviews, and supports VP-level claims leadership. Organizes workflows and assists with training on the Risk Tech Claim System and related systems.
