Colorado startups raised more than $855 million in the third quarter of 2023. While that may sound like an impressive total, it’s the lowest sum since the third quarter of 2021.

While some industry insiders admit at least a small amount of concern, others remain optimistic. The state’s numbers, although down, mirror what’s happening at the national level.

What’s more, Colorado is now an official tech hub for quantum technology. On Oct. 16, the Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration announced 31 tech hubs that will receive federal funding and special recognition. The move has many in the area hoping that Colorado can become the Silicon Valley of the Rocky Mountain region thanks to the unique combination of its top research universities, strong labor force and innovative companies.

This news and other factors could attract investment dollars, stimulate the financial system and position Colorado to lead the quantum computing revolution for the next five decades. In this environment where uncertainty and excitement blend together, companies like apartment marketing agency Digible are still growing. If you’re thinking about a career change or a new adventure as we close out the year, be sure to keep on reading.

What is notable about working at your company? What differentiates it from other places you’ve worked?

A notable feature of Digible is the work-life balance that is enforced. This is rare, especially for a startup. Aside from a four-day work week of 32 hours, the company also encourages self-development and improvement with a constant consideration of "happiness," which is a Digible core value. The importance of happiness isn't just written but practiced in everyday actions.

What is the impact of the work you are doing? Paint a picture of what this means for your customers or users.

I am so happy to have joined a team of engineers who not only have mutual respect for each other but also have a true sense of camaraderie. Every opinion is heard and no engineer is left behind. As a startup, it is fast-paced. You will see your work quickly deployed and utilized by both internal and external users. Your impact is evident. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to learn a lot as you contribute to building new features from the ground up or even review how to improve existing features.
