HomeAdvisor acquires German company
Earlier this week, HomeAdvisor announced they’ve acquired a holding interest in German company, MyHammer. The home services marketplace leads the market in Germany and has a significant presence in Austria and the U.K., expanding HomeAdvisor’s European reach even further than its existing presence in France, the Netherlands and Italy. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. [Press release]
Inside Twitter’s new Boulder office
5280 Magazine published an inside look at Twitter’s new office in Boulder. The company had previously been at 10th and Walnut and they’ve moved three blocks down the road to 13th and Walnut. The 30,000 square foot space is about double the size of their last office and features community tables, murals and catered breakfast and lunch in the company’s cafeteria. [5280]
Chris Sacca to appear at Clinton fundraiser in Denver
The Hillary Clinton campaign announced this week they’ll be hosting a fundraiser featuring Silicon Valley investor Chris Sacca later this month. The event will take place at Galvanize’s Platte campus on October 25th and will feature a conversation with the venture investor. Tickets to the event range from $100 to $5,000 in contribution to the campaign. [Denverite]
Simpro Software opening U.S. headquarters in Broomfield
Australian operational software company Simpro Software announced this week they plan to open their U.S. headquarters in Broomfield. Though they already have a small office in Boulder, the company hopes to add nearly 100 jobs with the new office. Most of the company’s development team will remain in Australia, but the new jobs will include will include sales, marketing, and customer support. [BizWest]
DigitalGlobe to acquire The Radiant Group
Westminster-based DigitalGlobe announced plans this week to acquire The Radiant Group, a geospatial information company based in Virginia. DigitalGlobe, which provides high-resolution Earth imagery products and solutions, paid $140 million in cash for the deal, and said they plan to use Radiant’s technology to support “critical national security missions.” [Virginia Business]
Webscale raises $12M
Webscale Networks, a multi-cloud web application delivery company, raised $12 million this week. Based in Silicon Valley, the company also has an office in Boulder. The round was led by Mohr Davidow Ventures, with participation from Benhamou Global Ventures, Grotech Ventures and Silicon Valley Bank. [Press release]
