Colorado cybersecurity takes center stage

With a number of cybersecurity companies calling Colorado home, the state is prepared to take center stage. Governor John Hickenlooper spoke about Colorado’s cybersecurity industry with a Washington, D.C. think tank earlier this week. FullContact acquires Brewster

Months after Brewster’s team was acqui-hired by RBI, Denver’s

has acquired its technology. The cross-platform contact management company will integrate some of Brewster’s existing technology, as well as features that hadn’t yet launched. Utivity raises half of $2.5M target

Denver’s

announced this week they’ve raised about half of their $2.5 million funding target. The company, which pairs skilled individuals with those who want to learn that skill, said they plan to use the money to expand to new markets. [Activity website halfway to $2.5 million raise, BusinessDen]

Silicon STEM Academy expanding curriculum

This week,

introduced an expansion of their curriculum to include a mobile apps program. Until now, their curriculum has mainly focused on after-school programs for children and teenagers. Their new App School program is designed to prepare adults for careers in app development, with courses for Android and iOS development. [Press release]

CanopyBoulder pulls in $2M to fund cannabis startups

CanopyBoulder announced this week they’ve raised $2 million to help fund the companies that pass through their cannabis-focused accelerator. They plan to make around 20 seed investments of up to $70,000 this year. Developer plans to add coworking space to new Westminster development

Coworking is coming to the suburbs, thanks to developer Danny Needham. He said he plans to expand his Overland Park, Kansas-based GRID Collaborative Workspace to the Highway 36 Corridor. Boulder’s

announced this week they’ve raised $5 million in a new funding round.
