Job searching can be an exhausting process. The logistics of sifting through possibilities, filling out applications and preparing for interviews takes a toll — and then there’s the sometimes nebulous element of fit. Will you get along with the team? Do the company’s values align with yours?
The answers to these crucial questions depend on a company’s culture, which is hard to see from the outside. To help clear up the mystery, Built In Colorado sat down with employees from CompanyCam and OTA Insight to hear how they describe company culture — from the inside.
Kristen Hedgecock, director of analytics and technical operations at CompanyCam, loves the company’s culture of flexibility. A working mom of three, she’s managed to find success at both work and home, getting promoted twice in two years even while juggling soccer practice drop offs and sick kiddos.
At OTA Insight, the culture is highly entrepreneurial. Though she’s newer to the company, Head of Demand Generation Janine Laughlin has already found opportunities for professional development and growth. She participated in a bootcamp to hone her managerial skills, a sign that the company is immediately invested in her leadership.
Both OTA Insight and CompanyCam are hiring now. If you're looking for a flexible workplace or a team committed to entrepreneurial energy, you might just find your fit.
CompanyCam is a job site capture and communication tool for contractors.

Need to do soccer practice drop off or take a sick kiddo to the doctor? Easy peasy. In addition, while juggling motherhood and my career, I've been promoted twice in less than 2 years. It's been great to be in a workplace that truly does support flexibility.
What's the coolest project you've worked on recently, and how did it help you grow professionally?
At CompanyCam, every day presents an exciting opportunity to work on cool projects. Our team collaborates with various departments to drive product adoption, ensure accurate revenue numbers, understand churn and support company goals through insightful dashboards. With such versatile work, each day is a new adventure that never gets boring.
Working on a variety of projects helps with professional growth by allowing me to develop new skills and expand my knowledge base. It also provides exposure to different aspects of the business, which can lead to new opportunities and career paths.
Additionally, working on diverse projects has helped me become more adaptable and a better problem-solver, as I have been exposed to a variety of challenges and situations.
OTA Insight empowers hotel partners by providing a complete and user-friendly revenue and distribution management tech stack.
Describe your company culture in one word.
Entrepreneurial. I selected this word because it encompasses innovation, creativity, resourcefulness and adaptability. This describes our global marketing team and our company culture.
This entrepreneurial spirit shined brightly as multiple teams across all functions of the company launched three products within a month and a half. I participated in go-to-market meetings as we prepared for these launches.
Our teams had weekly working sessions that included c-suite members, engineering, product management, sales enablement, operations, customer care, partnerships, and sales and marketing all working together to successfully hit our launch dates.
Everyone showed up each and every day giving these launches our all. We launched, learned some things along the way and are continuing to learn more about our customers and their needs in this process.

How long have you been with the company, and what professional growth or development have you seen in that time?
I am a newer employee with OTA Insight.. In I recently participated in a company sponsored leadership program called “Raise the Bar.”
This leadership bootcamp included personalized coaching and working sessions that provided me with more tools to improve my management skills and be a better leader for my team. I graduated from this program in June. It was a great experience and I appreciate working for a company that invests in its employees.
